The elusive Belgian designer Martin Margiela is the unofficial ‘seventh member’ of the ‘Antwerp Six’ collective, a group of designers famed for their visionary forward thinking. Their uncompromising approach to their work is reminiscent of Comme Des Garcons founder Rei Kawakubo. Deconstructed pieces play a central role in his work, and archaic found objects are often transformed into fascinating couture in his hands.
