We’ve hit Persol hard in the last year or so, due to their incredible retro chic designs. Perhaps most famous for their “Steve McQueen” model, Persol has just issued this special edition of the iconic style worn by the 60s action hero.
We aren’t too sure what makes these entirely different from the standard Persol PO 714, but apparently blue tints were were McQueen’s choice of lenses. Moreover, I believe the these are a folding style, with the hinges on the outside of the temples. Always a stunning frame, the signature etched Steve McQueen 714 Special Editions are just that much cooler. Available online.
They have also changed the folding mechanism on these ones, the arms fold in rather then down, and i think they changed something on one of the other hinges too. best glasses ever tho.
